Dr. Trevor T. Miranda, OD

Dr. Miranda was raised in Simcoe, Ontario, and graduated from the University of Waterloo with his Doctorate of Optometry in 1995. Following graduation, he moved to beautiful Vancouver Island, where he continues to serve the eye care needs of the Cowichan Valley. Trevor is also an active member of the Third World Eye Care Society and has collaborated with other professionals to improve the vision of those in need.
Dr. Miranda was named Optometrist of the Year by the British Columbia Association of Optometrists in March 2015. This prestigious honour recognized Dr. Miranda’s commitment to providing every patient with exceptional care while mentoring optometrists across Canada.
Outside the office, Dr. Miranda enjoys hockey, coaching soccer, being involved with the South Cowichan Rotary Club, and spending time with his wife Cheryl and their 3 children. He looks forward to continuing to care for the eyes of the Cowichan Valley and welcomes new patients without a referral.Dr. Miranda is available for appointments in our Duncan and Cobble Hill locations.
Dr. Anita Voisin, OD

Dr. Voisin grew up in Waterloo, Ontario, and graduated as a Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 1997. She practiced in Oshawa, Ontario, for 2 years prior to joining Dr. Trevor Miranda at Cobble Hill Eyecare (formerly Mill Bay Eyecare). In June 2000, Dr. Voisin also began providing Chemainus with comprehensive ocular health examinations in our then newly opened Chemainus office.
She strives to improve the quality of life of each of her patients and enjoys educating local organizations on the importance of eye health. She is actively involved in the community with the Chemainus Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Chemainus.
Dr. Voisin is dedicated to serving the vision needs of the Cowichan Valley and welcomes new and existing patients.Dr. Voisin is available for appointments in our Cobble Hill and Chemainus locations.
Dr. Carla Clarke, OD

Dr. Carla Clarke graduated from Simon Fraser University with a degree in kinesiology and continued to pursue her optometry doctorate at the University of Waterloo. Following graduation, Dr. Clarke practiced on the North Island for a year and is delighted to have returned to the Cowichan Valley to add her optometric experience to the Cobble Hill and Chemainus Eyecare team.

Dr. Megan Polack, OD

Dr. Polack was born and raised in the Cowichan Valley. She has been practicing with Cowichan Eyecare since obtaining her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 2011.
In her free time, Dr. Polack enjoys spending time with her 2 young children. She also enjoys horseback riding and travelling. She has participated in an eye care mission to the Philippines with the Third World Eye Care Society and hopes to join future missions.
Dr. Polack is available for comprehensive eye exams in our Duncan and Lake Cowichan locations.
Dr. Rebecca O’Hagan, OD

Rebecca O’Hagan graduated with her Doctorate of Optometry and Bachelor of Honours in Science in 2016 from the University of Waterloo. From there, she practiced optometry in the Okanagan and pursued further training through the Optometric Extension Program Foundation (OEPF) and Vision Therapy Canada, specializing in developmental optometry and vision therapy.
Dr. O’Hagan relocated to the Cowichan Valley in 2018 to establish a vision therapy practice within Cowichan Eyecare, with the aim of making vision therapy more accessible outside of major urban centers. She continues to dedicate herself to promoting awareness of vision therapy, vision-related learning disorders, and post-concussion rehabilitation.Dr. O’Hagan is available for appointments in our Cobble Hill and Chemainus locations.
Dr. Katherine Krol, OD

Dr. Katherine Krol was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. Her mother is an optician, so Katherine was exposed to the world of eye care at an early age. She decided to pursue optometry while studying biological sciences at the University of Alberta and eventually transferred to the Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon, where she graduated with distinction and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Vision Science and Doctorate of Optometry.
During her training, she completed several externships across the United States with a focus on primary care, ocular disease, and specialty contact lenses. After graduating, she worked at Nevada Eye Consultants in Reno, Nevada, alongside ophthalmologists, providing pre- and post-operative care to cataract and refractive surgery patients. This is where her interest in the treatment of dry eye disease originated. Dr. Krol practices full-scope optometry and provides care to patients of all ages. She has a particular interest in contact lenses, ocular disease, and the treatment of dry eye.
Dr. Angela Zhang, OD

Dr. Angela Zhang grew up in the Lower Mainland and studied psychology and microbiology/immunology at the University of British Columbia.
In 2020, she graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Doctorate of Optometry and was awarded a Practice Excellence Scholarship and an award of excellence in contact lens patient care. Since then, she studied eye movements in amblyopia as part of a master’s degree at the University of Waterloo and is working toward a fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry.
Dr. Zhang was involved with the Eyeglasses Project in Vancouver and has travelled to Jamaica to provide eye care through Canadian Vision Care. She is excited to return to BC to practice optometry in the beautiful Cowichan Valley.
In her spare time, she enjoys cycling, crafting, and spending quality time with her family and cat.
Dr. Brad Genereux, OD

Dr. Brad Genereux graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry with a Doctorate in Optometry and earned both a bachelor’s in visual science and a bachelor’s of science prior.
After completing his degree, Dr. Genereux went on to complete a residency in ocular disease at the Ohio State University. Afterwards, he continued to work in a tertiary care ophthalmology setting for many years, focusing on anterior segment, vitreoretinal disease, and neuro-ophthalmology clinics.
He is a passionate researcher and has been involved in numerous studies on novel treatments for eye diseases, including serving as a primary investigator. He has also published in the area of ocular disease. As he continues to further his education, he remains active in research and lecturing, both locally and internationally, on topics related to ocular disease.
Dr. Genereux also serves as a quality assurance assessor for the College of Optometry. In recognition of his care and contribution to the profession, Dr. Genereux was named the Young Optometrist of the Year by the British Columbia Association of Optometrists in 2019.
Dr. Trenton Cameron, Optometrist, BSc, OD

Dr. Trenton Cameron was born and raised on Vancouver Island before completing his BSc in chemistry for the medical sciences at the University of Victoria. He then pursued his Doctorate of Optometry at Pacific University in Oregon and graduated with distinction from each institution. In his final year of studies, he completed externships at the Spokane Veterans Hospital in Washington and Hill Air Force Base in Utah and soon thereafter returned home to the island to finish his clinical training.
There was no doubt in his mind that after graduation, he wanted to return home to the beautiful outdoors and amazing people of Vancouver Island.
Dr. Cameron discovered his interest in optometry during a volunteer healthcare trip to Honduras in 2019 with Global Brigades, which aimed to serve and empower local communities in need. He looks forward to joining many volunteer eye care missions in the future. Outside of Optometry, Dr. Cameron enjoys backcountry hiking, volleyball, soccer, and world travel.
