Dr. Katherine Krol was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. Her mother is an optician, so Katherine was exposed to the world of eye care at an early age. She decided to pursue optometry while studying biological sciences at the University of Alberta and eventually transferred to the Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon, where she graduated with distinction and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Vision Science and Doctorate of Optometry.
During her training, she completed several externships across the United States with a focus on primary care, ocular disease, and specialty contact lenses. After graduating, she worked at Nevada Eye Consultants in Reno, Nevada, alongside ophthalmologists, providing pre- and post-operative care to cataract and refractive surgery patients. This is where her interest in the treatment of dry eye disease originated. Dr. Krol practices full-scope optometry and provides care to patients of all ages. She has a particular interest in contact lenses, ocular disease, and the treatment of dry eye.
